Black & White Photography

All The Shade of Grey

with April Milani

Do you find black and white photography difficult? Or maybe your images feel flat when you remove the color in post processing? Do you long to see in black and white before you click the shutter?

When we remove the rainbow of colors that we see through our lens, we must learn to use new tools to create contrast and emotion in our images. The power of monochrome can tell your subject’s story in such a powerful way. We will embrace all the shades of grey for mood and depth.

Learn to shoot in color, convert to black and white, then place color back in the highlights and shadows. In this workshop, you will find that Black, White, and Color go hand and hand. We will start from the beginning of photography and work our way to the present time. There is so much to be learned from our photographic history.

Lessons will be taught in Lightroom and Photoshop. All camera types are welcome.

April is a retired military wife and homeschooling mom of two wild boys. April is not afraid to go out and try something new, even if she fails. She’s still won because she didn’t let fear stop her. April is human; she makes mistakes; she is perfectly imperfect; she is saved by grace. Her saying this year is, “don’t feed the fears.”
